Multicolored brackets |
Healthy and good-looking teeth are a feature of a generally healthy person. A specific branch of dentistry, orthodontics, allows to make the teeth not only healthy, but beautiful as well. Orthodontists make dental alignments both in children and in adults. To correct the patient's occlusion, the following devices are used: removable brackets (plates, caps etc.), non-removable brackets (metal, ceramic, and sapphire brackets), and lingual brackets. Occlusion correction does not involve painful sensations, but it requires patience that is bound to bear good fruit eventually.
Lingual brackets are absolutely invisible, because they rest on the lingual (tongue) surface of the teeth where their locks are fixed. One of the most important features of lingual bracket placement is that this appliance, unlike regular brackets, is very hard to be initially set in its place on the teeth correctly as the treatment requires. That is why these brackets are first put on your tooth molds in the dental laboratory, and after a while, when they are ready, they are re-located on your teeth. This type of brackets necessitates special education obtained by the orthodontist and an entirely different kit of instruments. The complete placement session lasts 2 or 3 hours. This is one reason, among others, why this service differs so much in price with the vestibular system. Lingual brackets have their disadvantages, too. They are less convenient compared to other devices for eating, speaking, and tooth-brushing. It takes 3 or 4 weeks to get used to such device. Contraindications for them include small tooth crowns and multiple missing teeth, as well as the patient's individual specifics (at the discretion of the orthodontist). The staff of the American-Russian Dental Center will offer you a number of occlusion correction alternatives, which utilize modern equipment and our priceless expertise. |

Healthier gums: properly positioned teeth are easier to brush and floss than teeth that are crowned, and spaced too far apart. Properly aligned teeth can help gums “fit” more tightly around them, which may lead to better periodontal health. Easier cleanings: with maintenance of good oral hygiene, with the chances of having plaque retention, tooth decay, or periodontal (gum) disease can be reduced. Decreased Risk of Abnormal Wear: properly aligned teeth can be less stressful on the supporting bone jaw joints. More beautiful smiles: straightening your teeth with the virtually invisible Invisalighn aligners can make you feel less self-conscious and more confident. |
